BASICS OF BRAIN INJURY: Summary of Challenges & Practical Tips
Presented by: Lyn Gaudet-Kiehl MA JD & Christian Burridge
- Identify key differences between mild and moderate to severe TBI claims.
- Identify three challenges relating to identifying, managing, and establishing brain injury as part of a personal injury claim.
- Understand how even “normal” neuroimaging data (CT and MRI) that was collected clinically can help identify and establish the presence of brain injury and damage (using quantitative techniques and within subject comparison to later scans).
- Understand the limitations of neuroimaging as it relates to identifying brain injury (particularly in mild TBI) and the critical component of brain injury symptom assessment and corresponding clinical management of symptoms and how those can be used to establish existence of and the consequences of a TBI.
- Mr. Burridge will offer strategies on how to utilize this information in the attorney’s current TBI cases from a PI attorney’s perspective.
